The exhilarating Klosters Snow Polo tournament will once again descend this forthcoming January into the
pretty Swiss Alpine village. The holiday location is historically loved by Royals and skiers alike and is the
perfect backdrop for the polo tournament? s “boutique” style, and chic but understated atmosphere.
Once again the tournament will host players and teams from all over the world, including Germany, England,
Argentina and Mexico as well as Switzerland. Spectators can continue to enjoy free general admission for
viewing of the polo games. The tournament takes on a festival style atmosphere with much fun for all the
family; food stalls, high end retail experiences, children? s entertainment as well as live music from new bands
and a cool pop up nightclub. The tournament will also have a launch party on Thursday 19th with a “Best of
British” theme.
“We are excited at how the Klosters Snow Polo tournament has now expanded into a winter event that offers
not only spectacular sport but also a huge range of entertainment”, says Daniel Waechter, the tournament? s
founder and president of the Alpine Polo Club. “This January we will have a number of new aspects; for the
first time the tournament will see eight teams compete, and it will now start a day earlier on the Wednesday.
We are also delighted to announce that we have signed a three year deal with the village of Klosters and the
marketing organisation Destination Davos Klosters for the tournament”.
The tournament will see continued sponsor relationships with British fashion brand Hackett, Parmigiani
watches and Maissen jeweler, Davos-Klosters and The Financial Times How To Spend It magazine. The
tournament was described as “The ultimate ice-breaker and deal-maker” by How To Spend It magazine earlier
this year. The tournament had a global media reach of 225? 259? 487 in 2011 and PR campaign valued at just
over 3 million CHF, offering sponsors a highly valued marketing campaign.
A newly established media partnership with the renowned financial and economic Swiss publications
Handelszeitung, Bilanz and Stocks (published by Axel Springer Schweiz AG), will bring further value and
excellent opportunities for presence and positioning of the event, as well as our sponsors and partners, to a
sophisticated readership.
